How to stop Overeating and Maintain Healthy Weight
Typically when there is meal which is very appealing and tasty, one is predisposed to overeating. So what are the steps to take to prevent that? Well, there are some things that can be done and are very effective like eating a large salad before your meal. Most of us are aware of the importance of salads but if we try to eat it after a meal, chances are we will not finish it.
Proteins is very important to consume the right amount of protein in your diet without which one is likely to overeat because of the importance of protein as building blocks and the body will not feel satiated unless it gets enough. So, how much is actually enough? As a rule, multiply 1.6 with your weight in kg and you arrive at the amount of protein you should eat of course it may direr a little depending on your lifestyle like if you hit the gym often, you may need more that those who don’t.
Eating too much fructose and grains especially carbohydrates will make you hungry very often leaving you wanting for more as soon as the level of sugar in the blood goes down. Besides leading to Diabetes and Insulin Resistance, it will make you overeat and eat more frequently especially between meals snacks which are very damaging for health.
There was an advice I heard once that if you want to maintain your weight and not be hungry, eat small and frequent meals typically every two hours. There could not be a more worse thing to do for damaging your health. Eating all the time raises insulin and Insulin is a Fat Storing hormone. You cannot burn fat in the presence of Insulin.
Be very careful and study the advice given to you before implementing it because after all its your body and if you damage it, then it is you who are going to suffer. Eat more whole foods. Do away with frequent eating and aim to eat healthy fats because contrary to popular belief, fats are required for nutrient absorption, they are very satiating, they also are a stable energy source and for your information, our body produces cholesterol and our brain is mostly cholesterol. So, eat wisely, reduce carbohydrates and practice intermittent fasting and your body will definitely thank you !
