Signs that Depict Deficiency of Nutrients
Nutrient deficiencies can be caused by a lack of acidic medium in the stomach which inhibits the absorption of food and nutrients and a lack of bile. Taking Apple Cider Vinegar and /or Betaine Hydrochloride and Bile salts can serve to overcome these problems.
Other more common and more prevalent reasons are over consumption of sugar, refined carbohydrates, alcohol and stress.
Some common deficiencies and remedies:
1.Dry Eyes are caused by a deficiency of vitamin ‘A’ and taking retinol can serve to solve the problem. Some vegetables like Carrot have Beta Carotene which is the inactive form and must be converted by the body to the active form that is Retinol and the conversion in dependent on many factors and one would have to consume a lot of carrots to cover the deficiency. So, already deficient people can take Retinol Supplements and thereafter continue with Vitamin A rich foods.
2.Red Cheeks are caused by an imbalance of microflora in the gut which affects the skin. Taking probiotic supplements or probiotic rich foods like Kefir and Sauerkraut or other fermented vegetables as well as sour curd can help alleviate the problem.
3.Shortness of Breath which can include looking very pale and experiencing over fatigue is caused by anaemia and is a classic deficiency of Iron. Again, it can be due to lack of acidic medium causing malabsorption. Taking Iron (Folate) and Vitamin B12 will serve to solve this.
4.Cravings of Ice are also caused by a lack if Iron in the body.
5.Red dots on skin and hair in springs is caused by lack of vitamin C and more often than not, it is caused by excessive consumption of sugar which blocks the absorption of this Vitamin.
6.Belly Fat is caused by a fatty Liver. Many times we see a perfectly normal body except the belly protruding. Its caused by belly fat which is due to excessive sugar and carbohydrates. Toxins in the atmosphere, absorbed by the skin and present in our food are all dealt by the liver. Try to detox the Liver and practice regular intermittent fasting to overcome this.
7.Lack of Smell and Taste is caused by a deficiency of Zinc. Take Zinc supplements or eat foods rich in Zinc like Pumpkin Seeds.
