What then is inside Coffee that affords these benefits. It's the Caffeine and the polyphenols which benefit digestion, brain health and protect against heart disease and type II diabetes.

Coffee : Good or Bad

Caffeine is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant of the methylxanthine class. It is mainly used as a eugeroic (wakefulness promoter) or as a mild cognitive enhancer to increase alertness and attentional performance.[Caffeine acts by blocking binding of adenosine to the adenosine A1 receptor, which enhances release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.

Coffee : Good or Bad

Simply put, Coffee will give you a better microbiome like cocoa powder and will make you more alert while protecting your brain. Coffee consumption must be limited to 3-4 cups a day.

The problem starts when we start mixing Coffee with sugar, milk or cream and worst of all non dairy creamers. As soon as you add sugar and milk like most of us do, we start to negate the good properties of coffee.

Remember taste is an acquired habit. You can drink coffee without the sugar and milk but you will have to acquire the taste. In nature, there is a hidden rule. MORE BITTER, MORE BETTER.

Coffee : Good or Bad

So go ahead and drink you coffee guilt free and if you just can't do without sugar, try Allulose Which is an artificial sweetener. Do not confuse Allulose with Stevia. Allulose is plant based naturally occurring sugar whereas Stevia is derived from a plant called Stevia Rebaudiana. And if you really want to reap the full benefits, please do not use milk or cream.
